Extension Tube is a mounting bracket for SkyWatcher EQ-6 allowing you to raise the head about 20cm above its standard height, while maintaining rigidity equal to the stiffness of assembly without this element. The bracket is fixed between the field tripod and the parallax head.
The main advantage of using the bracket is to ensure comfort of working with long-pointed refractors in areas close to the zenith. It can be useful in working with catadioptric systems (MAK, ACF, SCT and others).
The bracket is also used in observations and astrophotography close to the Earth's equator, as it prevents the counterweight from hitting a field tripod.
