The ASI290MM Mini camera is dedicated to astrophotographic sets requiring the highest accuracy of guidance. Thanks to the use of a light sensitive element with a single pixel size of 2.9 x 2.9 µm, this device has the best angular resolution of the entire range of ZWO Mini models. In practice, this means that the ASI290MM Mini is able to provide 30% more precise guidance than the ASI120MM Mini model.
The heart of this camera is a monochrome Sony IMX290LQR matrix with a resolution of 2.1 MP. This sensor is characterized by low power consumption and low heat dissipation, which, despite the use of passive cooling only, allows to keep the readout noise at a level not exceeding 1 e. The sensor is protected by fast AR transmitting infrared radiation, thanks to which it is possible to take photos with the IR-Pass filter, which can give very interesting results.
