ZWO AM5N is the latest mount cover that took the professional astrophotography equipment market by storm in 2022. The AM5N version features improved guidance precision and increased payload in a configuration without counterweights.
ZWO AM5N allows you to work in both equatorial (EQ) and azimuth (AZ) modes. The first is dedicated especially to astrophotography, while the second will prove to be a convenient observation configuration. The drive source is high-resolution stepper motors, which, in combination with a 300:1 wave gear, allow you to achieve precision guidance with a periodic error of <±10". The whole can be controlled via a hand controller or an application.
The vast possibilities of this product are combined with its compact dimensions and low weight. The head is equipped with an M12 thread enabling the connection of a counterweight axis, thanks to which the maximum load can be increased from 15 to 20 kilograms.
