Advanced controller for the drive in two axes of the EQ3 assembly
Essential for long-term astrophotography and also helpful for visual observations, the controller includes an ST-4 interface for an auto guider.
Offers different tracking speeds: - star - lunar - sunny - 2 guiding speeds - 0.5x and 2x - 16x speed for precise positioning of objects in the field of view This controller guarantees very precise control over the drive motors of EQ3 mounts from Synta.
Using the appropriate switches, you can select both the northern and southern hemispheres (reverse the tracking direction) or turn tracking off completely.
If tracking is enabled, pressing the right/left key (for RA axis rotation) will change the speed by the number selected on the 0.5x/2x/16x switch.
Example: If a 0.5x speed and sidereal tracking are selected, pressing one of the left/right buttons will achieve a 0.5x speed (1x - 0.5x), while pressing the other button will achieve a 1.5x speed (1x + 0.5x). The advantage of this solution is insensitivity to mount backlash. Selecting a 2x speed switch, on the other hand, will result in -1x (1x - 2x) and 3x (1x + 2x) speeds, respectively. This allows both automatic and manual guiding to be adjusted to changing session conditions. During stronger winds or poor gear performance, use 2x, and for better conditions, use 0.5x.
The controller allows you to reverse the direction of both the up/down and left/right keys using the appropriate switches on the side of the housing. This ensures that the controller's direction of operation always matches what is seen in the eyepiece or on the sensor, regardless of the optical system's properties or the camera's position in the focuser. This allows you to comfortably use this controller with both star diagonals and Maksutov and Newtonian telescopes.
The controller is powered by 6V DC with a minimum current output of 400 mA. Using a higher voltage, e.g. 9V or 12V, will damage the remote control. • stepper motor controller on both axes with ST-4 interface • predefined tracking speeds: sidereal, lunar, solar • additional speeds: +/-0.5x, +/-2x, +/-16x (compensating) • ability to turn off tracking speed and reverse direction (for the S hemisphere) • possibility of reversing the directions of the left/right and up/down keys • compatible with many autoguiders, e.g. Sky-Watcher SynGuider • to operate, it requires assembly with a drive with stepper motors, Upgrade kit for EQ3 or drives in 2 axes for EQ3 assembly • power supply: 6VDC / 400 mA, DC plug 2.1/5.5 mm pin+ polarity • guider interface: ST-4 • drive interface: RJ-4 • dimensions: 130 x 64 x 30 mm 2 years
