The SkyWatcher EQM-35 PRO Synscan is a fully functional equatorial mount with a GoTo system designed for astrophotography, combining the features of a lightweight mount for long-distance travel. The EQM-35 PRO is based on the EQ3 SynScan Pro mount, but its design is slightly different, providing significantly greater possibilities.
The EQM-35 Pro mount can be used in two configurations. The standard configuration is as an equatorial mount with a GoTo system. In this case, it is possible to suspend up to 10 kilograms of equipment. The head's construction has been reinforced for this purpose, and a new, larger, and more precise worm wheel has been incorporated in the RA axis. The head features a full GoTo system, including an ST-4 socket for AutoGuider.
The second configuration is the travel configuration, which is achieved by removing the declination axis. In the EQM-35 Pro mount, the declination block is easily separated from the rest of the mount, the entire conversion taking a few minutes at most. After removing the axis, the head weighs only 3.28 kilograms and fits into airline carry-on luggage. Operating the disassembled head is similar to operating the StarAdventurer head, with even greater stability and payload.
