Set of two polarizing filters + bushing 1.25. Filters can normally be screwed into glasses equipped with a filter thread.

The offered set is used to smoothly reduce the amount of light passing through the optical system. The filter is made of two rotating luminaires containing special polarizing filters that allow the regulation of light transmission in the range from about 1% to almost 50%. The Moon and bright planets are used, when a large amount of light entering our eye causes discomfort of observation (the picture is too bright and we lose the ability to see subtle details). This filter also reduces visible reflections in the telescope and increases the contrast of the images obtained.

The filter can be screwed into a telescope eyepiece with a diameter of 1.25 "or in a connected sleeve, thanks to which you can get the same transmission coefficient through the filters when changing the glasses, without the need to put filters in and adjust their position.


Question : Is the filter permanently connected, can the filter be split into two separate 1.25 "filters?

Answer: The filters can be separated into two separate polarizing filters transmitting 50% of light.

Question : How does a single polarizing filter work? Why do you need two filters in the set? What is the physical basis of the operation of such a filter?

Answer: The light of the moon and planets is a non-polar light. The polarizing filter "cuts out" the electromagnetic wave components with a specific polarization. Two polarizing filters can therefore "cut" almost all light on non-falling, and the transmission is regulated by the rotation of one filter against the other. Question : How do you fix the eyepiece filter?

Answer: The filter is screwed into the eyepiece from the side of the extractor, ie from the opposite side than the eye. The offered set is used with 1.25 "glasses. Among the currently offered eyeglasses there are no eyeglasses without a filter thread, so you can say that the set of polarizing filters can be used with EVERY 1,25" eyepiece. In addition, the sleeve in the set makes us independent of the presence of a filter thread, but as mentioned above, its main purpose is the ability to quickly replace glasses with polarized filters.
