The Maksutov - Newton telescope is a Newton telescope with a parabolic mirror and an additional meniscular lens in the front of the tube, which largely eliminates the spherical aberration of the main mirror. Such modified newton enjoys recognition among astronomers also due to the significantly reduced coma, astigmatism, and curvature of the image in relation to the traditional mirror system.
Maksutow - Newton is also an excellent and much cheaper alternative to apochromatic systems. It is also an indispensable instrument for taking photographs characterized by high contrast, good edge sharpness and a flat field. It has a value of 5, it allows you to take good pictures with short exposure times.
Crayford's low-profile 2-inch diameter extractor removes the vignetting of the image, while the double focusing system with a ratio of 1:10 allows for perfect image sharpening.
The use of resistant and yet lightweight carbon fiber in the construction of the tube with excellent thermal characteristics makes it independent of changes in its dimensions from the current environmental conditions.
