Daystar QUARK Chromosphere Solar Filter (SKU: DSZ4C) is a narrowband H-alpha solar filter designed for refractors. It is built as a compact eyepiece-sized module that combines a Fabry-Perot etalon, a telecentric Barlow lens, blocking elements, and mounting interfaces in a single housing.
The unit is inserted directly into a 1.25" or 2" diagonal. After inserting a 1.25" eyepiece or connecting suitable imaging accessories, a standard refractor can operate as a narrowband solar telescope for observing the Sun in the Hydrogen Alpha line.
The Chromosphere version is designed mainly for observing solar surface detail and the chromosphere. It offers higher contrast on the solar disk than the Prominence model, while still allowing observation of brighter, broader prominences.
