ZWO ASIAIR PLUS 256 GB is the latest version of a product that turned out to be a milestone in the development of professional astrophotography. This small controller fully replaces the computer in the astrophotography set, thus reducing the amount of necessary equipment and cabling to a minimum.
One of the most important changes compared to its predecessor is the replacement of the memory on the microSD card with an eMMC type chip, which is characterized by much better stability and reliability. The second most important difference is the use of a dual-band WiFi module with an external antenna, guaranteeing a range of up to 20 meters, thanks to which the user can conveniently control the set while staying at home or in the car, without being exposed to the effect of cold on autumn or winter nights.
The remaining differences, although seemingly only cosmetic, significantly affect the comfort of use. Control diodes allow you to quickly check the operating status of the entire system, and an additional USB-C port facilitates data exchange between the controller and the computer.
In the latest model, changes also included purely mechanical issues. The aluminum casing made using CNC technology is 24% thinner than its predecessor, and the entire device is over 13% lighter.
