The Baader 2" ClickLock 90° mirror diagonal is a premium visual accessory built around an oversized 2" dielectric 1/10 wave mirror. It is designed for 2" (50.8 mm) visual systems where high contrast and consistent performance are required. The optical path length is 112 mm and the clear aperture is 46.6 mm, making it well suited for widefield 2" eyepieces and demanding optical trains.
A key feature is the Baader 2" ClickLock clamp: eyepieces and heavy accessories are secured by rotating a clamping ring (no side screws that can tilt the eyepiece). This provides fast operation, a very firm hold, and helps maintain proper alignment. The mirror surface is hard-coated and scratch resistant, allowing safer cleaning compared to standard coatings.
The diagonal is optimized for visual use by reflecting the visible spectrum (approx. 400–700 nm) and rejecting deep UV and IR radiation, helping to reduce unwanted radiation reaching the eye. For solar observing it must only be used with correctly rated White-Light or H-alpha filters placed in front of the telescope. It does not replace the blocking filters integrated in dedicated H-alpha telescopes.
