Astronomik OIII 12nm CCD Clip-Filter EOS M (Astronomik, SKU: 10204092 / 8h00s4) is a narrowband emission line filter designed for imaging nebulae emitting in the oxygen [OIII] lines. It significantly enhances the contrast between objects emitting at 496nm and 501nm and the sky background, enabling detailed imaging under both light-polluted and dark skies.
• 12nm narrowband OIII filter
• maximizes contrast at 496nm and 501nm
• complete blocking of sodium (Na) and mercury (Hg) vapor lamp emissions, natural airglow and most moonlight
• effectively blocks unwanted radiation outside the OIII band from UV to IR
• especially suitable for DSLR cameras with CMOS sensors and CCD cameras with normal or high dark current
• preferred for cameras with integrated guiding sensors (more guide stars compared to the 6nm version)
• integrated IR blocking layer (CCD version)
• parfocal with other Astronomik filters
• diffraction-limited design – no loss of resolution or contrast
• Astronomik MFR coating providing excellent out-of-band blocking, no halos and minimal scattered light
• strict quality control before shipment
• Astronomik OIII 12nm CCD Clip-Filter EOS M
• high-quality, durable filter storage box
• spectral lines: OIII (496nm and 501nm)
• bandwidth (FWHM): 12nm
• guaranteed transmission >90% (12nm) at 501nm
• typical transmission 95% (12nm) at 501nm
• recommended focal ratio range (MFR): f/3 to f/∞
• glass thickness: 1mm
• finely polished optical glass free from streaks, internal stress and bubbles
• coating: Astronomik MFR
• fully resistant to high humidity and aging effects
The Astronomik OIII 12nm CCD filter enables high-contrast imaging of planetary nebulae, star-forming regions and supernova remnants even under demanding observing conditions.
