Astronomik CLS CCD XT Clip-Filter EOS APS-C (Astronomik, SKU: 10203083 / 8h00kf) is specifically designed for cameras intended for astronomical use. It enhances the contrast of all deep-sky objects against the sky background, making it ideal for astrophotography under light-polluted skies.
Its wider transmission range compared to UHC filters allows more light to pass through, resulting in less attenuation of stars. The filter is optimized to block as much unwanted light as possible while maintaining maximum transmission of astronomical object signals.
The CLS CCD fully blocks emission lines from artificial light sources such as sodium (Na) and mercury (Hg) lamps as well as natural airglow. An integrated infrared (IR) blocking layer makes it suitable for cameras without a built-in IR-cut filter.
It can be used with mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, CMOS and CCD cameras as well as telescopes and lenses with focal ratios from f/1.8 to f/15.
• 1.25" and 2" versions can be used for visual observation from light-polluted areas
• excellent choice as a luminance channel for color imaging of emission objects
• Astronomik CLS – more economical option for cameras with built-in IR blocking or for visual observation
• CMOS and CCD: very effective light pollution suppression
• DSLR (original): good, shifted color balance but increased contrast
• DSLR (astro-modified): very good, nearly perfect color balance
• DSLR (MC-modified): very good, nearly perfect color balance
The XT version is designed for wide-angle astrophotography. Its extremely thin substrate (0.3 mm or 0.5 mm) minimizes star distortion in the image corners.
• 95% transmission at 486 nm (H-beta)
• 95% transmission at 496 nm (OIII)
• 95% transmission at 501 nm (OIII)
• 97% transmission at 656 nm (H-alpha)
• transmission range: 450–520 nm and 640–690 nm
• glass thickness: 1 mm (except OWB Type 3 and XT filters)
• finely polished optical glass free of stress and inclusions
• extremely scratch-resistant coating
• fully resistant to humidity and aging
• Astronomik MFR coating
• parfocal with other Astronomik filters
• diffraction-limited design
• optimized transmission ranges
• supplied in a durable, high-quality filter box
All Astronomik filters are parfocal and diffraction-limited, ensuring that the optical performance of your system remains uncompromised. Each filter undergoes strict quality control before shipment.
