Astronomik CLS CCD 2" (M48) Filter (Astronomik, SKU: 10208200 / 8h00dq) was designed for cameras intended for astronomical use. It enhances the contrast between deep-sky objects and the sky background, making it ideal for astrophotography under light-polluted skies.
Compared to UHC filters, it offers a broader transmission range, allowing more light to pass through and resulting in less attenuation of stars.
The CLS CCD filter is optimized to block as much unwanted light as possible while transmitting the maximum amount of astronomical signal. It completely blocks emission lines from artificial light sources such as sodium (Na) and mercury (Hg) lamps, as well as natural airglow.
The filter is suitable for mirrorless, DSLR, CMOS and CCD cameras and can be used with telescopes or lenses with focal ratios from f/1.8 to f/15.
Thanks to the integrated infrared (IR) blocking layer, it can also be used with cameras that do not have their own IR-cut filter.
• 1.25" and 2" mounted versions can also be used for observations from light-polluted locations
• excellent choice as a luminance filter for color imaging of emission-line objects
For cameras with a built-in IR filter or for visual observations, the Astronomik CLS filter is a more economical alternative.
• CMOS and CCD photography: very good suppression of light pollution
• DSLR photography (original): good, color balance shifts but contrast increases
• DSLR photography (astro-modified): very good, color balance nearly perfect
• DSLR photography (MC-modified): very good, color balance nearly perfect
• 95% transmission at 486 nm (H-beta)
• 95% transmission at 496 nm (OIII)
• 95% transmission at 501 nm (OIII)
• 97% transmission at 656 nm (H-alpha)
• transmission range: 450–520 nm and 640–690 nm
• glass thickness: 1 mm (except OWB Type 3 and XT filters)
• finely polished optical glass free of streaks, internal stress and bubbles
• extremely scratch-resistant and durable coating
• completely resistant to humidity and aging effects
• Astronomik MFR coating
• parfocal with other Astronomik filters
• diffraction-limited performance
• optimized transmission ranges
• supplied in a high-quality, durable filter box
Thanks to the high-precision processing of the substrate, all Astronomik filters are parfocal with wedge errors far below common tolerances. They are diffraction-limited and ensure that the optical performance (resolution and contrast) of your telescope remains unaffected.
Astronomik filters are ideal for modern cameras, both CMOS and CCD based, allowing you to capture the best possible images with your equipment. Sharpness, contrast and the absence of reflections or halos are guaranteed.
