SVBONY SV550 80 mm is an advanced apochromatic triplet, one of the best optical systems used in professional astrophotography. In order to best correct the main optical defect of lens telescopes, i.e. chromatic aberration, the optics of this instrument are equipped with a lens made of low dispersion glass (ED) type S-FPL51, which is one of the flagship products of the Japanese company Ohara, known for producing the best types of optical glass. The full multi-layer coating (FMC) and an extensive system of internal baffles are responsible for eliminating reflections and improving image contrast. The telescope is equipped with a solid rack & pinion type extension that maintains full linearity even with a load of 5 kg.
