Seestar-S50 is the first digital telescope produced by the ZWO team, which will be perfect both as a tool for taking the first steps in observing the night sky, as well as a light and mobile equipment for field trips. Seestar-S50 is a complete observation system combining the advantages of an electronic focuser and astronomical camera, ASIAIR computer and an azimuth mount.
The telescope is equipped with a three-lens APO class optics characterized by perfectly corrected chromatic aberration. The image is recorded by a low-noise Sony IMX462 matrix using Sony Starvis™ technology and known, among others, for its use in professional astrophotography cameras.
The entire structure is mounted on an azimuth mount with the GoTo function and tracking of interesting objects. In order to simplify the operation as much as possible, the mount has a built-in GPS module, which allows for its maintenance-free calibration. Quick and accurate leveling of the set is facilitated by additional sensors that record the angle of the mount and provide the user with information via the control application.
A perfect tool for observing the Sun
The Seestar S50 telescope is equipped with a solar filter attached to the lens with a transmission band from 580 to 630 nm and optical density ND5 (blocks 99.999% of light).
Built-in Duo-band filter
To improve the quality of images in urban conditions and in the presence of the Moon in the sky, the telescope is equipped with an internal dual-band filter (OIII 30 nm FWHM + H-α 20 nm FWHM), reducing light pollution, reducing its impact on the quality of obtained astronomical images.
