Antlia H-alpha 2.8 nm Ultra 36 mm is a professional astrophotographic filter that transmits red light with a wavelength of 656.3 nm emitted by ionized hydrogen atoms, the registration of which is particularly important when photographing emission nebulae.
With a very narrow half-bandwidth of 2.8 nm, this filter combines the ability to almost completely eliminate the unwanted component from sodium and mercury lamps with high transmittance ± for the Hα spectral line, one of the most important for astrophotography. To ensure high contrast, the filters have been covered with technologically advanced coatings, and their edges have been darkened. All these features mean that this filter offers almost 30 percent better signal than in the case of analogous models in the Antlia Pro series.
The Antlia H-alpha 2.8 nm Ultra 36 mm filter, thanks to the carefully selected spectral characteristics, does not show a significant decrease in transmittance resulting from the shift of the maximum transmittance peak (CWL). This means that the filter will work perfectly with telescopes with a light intensity of f/3.5 and even higher, thanks to the flat course of the maximum transmission band.
Attention! The Ha filter is not recommended for visual or solar observations. • bandpass filter made on a high-quality optical substrate with maximum transmission for radiation with a wavelength of 656.3 nm • substrate made of quartz glass with increased thermal stability and high mechanical resistance • compatible with astrographs with light intensity up to f/3.5 while maintaining minimal signal loss • half bandwidth of transmission (FWHM) of 2.8 nm • optical density equivalent OD5 guaranteeing high efficiency of light pollution removal • filter type: bandpass filter • substrate material: quartz glass • Filter diameter: 36 mm • filter thickness: 2 ± 0.05 mm • filter shape: round • pass bands: Hα (656.3 nm) • location of the peak of transmittance (CWL): 656.3 • half bandwidth (FWHM): 2.8 ± 0.5 nm • maximum transmission: 97% • blocked bands: mercury lamps (435.8 nm, 546.1 nm, 577 nm, 578.1 nm), sodium lamps (598 nm, 589.6 nm, 615.4 nm, 616.1 nm) • optical density equivalent for blocked lines: OD5 (300 - 1000 nm) • Antlia H-alpha 2.8nm Ultra 36mm filter 3-year manufacturer's warranty (for delamination of the filter and substrate)
