The Player One UV/IR-Cut S-Series 1.25″ filter (SKU: UV IR-CUT ) transmits only the 400-700 nm band, effectively blocking both ultraviolet below 400 nm and infrared above 700 nm. As a result, the image is free from chromatic aberration and blurring caused by longer IR wavelengths, and the colors in one-shot astrophotography remain natural and faithful. The filter is ideal as a luminance L channel in L-RGB sets and as a protection filter for the sensor when observing and photographing the Moon, planets or deep sky objects. • transmission >95% in the 400–700 nm band – high contrast and natural colors • UV/IR blockage <0.1% (<400 nm & >700 nm) – elimination of unsharp components • multi-layer, hardened dielectric coatings – scratch and moisture resistance • λ/4 flatness optical glass, ≤30″ parallel – no wavefront degradation at large apertures • Thin, blackened 1.25" frame (M28.5 × 0.6) – no vignetting in 1.25" tracks and FD MINI drawer
• Diameter/frame: 1.25″ – thread M28.5 × 0.6, ring height 5 mm • substrate: optical glass, thickness 1.85 mm • transmission range (T>95%): 400–700 nm • UV/IR attenuation: <0.1% @ ≤380 nm and ≥720 nm • coatings: hard-coated, dielectric, double-sided • flatness: λ/4 (632.8 nm) • clear diameter: 26 mm • weight: 9 g
The UV/IR-Cut S-Series filter is an essential part of a photographic set with color cameras ( OSC ) and refractor, catadioptric and Newtonian telescopes with co-corrector. It protects the sensor from IR overheating during bright objects and provides sharp, color-free images - both in deep sky astrophotography and fast shots of planets or the Moon.
