Player One APOLLO-M Mono (SKU: POA-APOLLO-M ) is a classic global shutter camera, appreciated by enthusiasts of high-resolution imaging of the Sun, Moon and planets. It uses a Sony IMX174 MONO sensor (1/1.2″ format, 1920 × 1200 px) with a large 5.86 µm pixel, which combines high quantum sensitivity (> 78 %) with a full well of ≈ 32 ke- and very low readout noise < 2 e- (HCG mode). A global shutter eliminates jelly-effect distortions, and a USB-C 3.0 interface with a 128MB DDR-III buffer enables smooth recording at up to 160 fps in full RAW10 resolution – perfect for lucky imaging .

Key Features of APOLLO-M

• Sony IMX174 MONO sensor – 1920 × 1200 px (2.3 MP), 5.86 µm pixel, global shutter
• high sensitivity (QE > 78%) and no amp-glow artifact
• speed up to 160 fps (RAW10) / 120 fps (RAW12) in full frame, 350 fps at ROI 640 × 480
• full well ≈ 32 ke-, read noise < 2 e- (HCG) – wide dynamic range
• 128 MB DDR-III buffer – recording without dropped frames in long bursts
• passive PCS radiator with the possibility of connecting an active ACS module
• Super AR Plus window – high transmission 350 – 1000 nm, minimal reflections
• USB-C 3.0 interface (400 MiB/s) + ST-4 port for autoguider
• threads: internal M42 × 0.75 + nose 1.25″ – back-focus 12.5 mm; full compatibility with SFT tilter and FD MINI drawer

Technical specification

• matrix: Sony IMX174 MONO, CMOS, global shutter
• format / diagonal: 1/1.2″ (13.3 mm) – area 11.3 × 7.1 mm
• resolution: 1920 × 1200 px (2.30 MP)
• pixel size: 5.86 µm
• ADC: 12 bit / 10 bit (RAW)
• full well: ≈ 32 ke- (gain 0)
• reading noise: 1.2 – 3.5 e- (HCG → LG)
• max. FPS: 160 fps @ RAW10 (1920 × 1200), 350 fps @ 640 × 480
• exposure range: 32 µs – 2000 s
• Buffer: 128MB DDR-III
• back-focus (with 1.25″ nose): 12.5 mm
• dimensions / weight: Ø 60 mm × 32 mm / ≈ 175 g
• cooling: PCS passive; compatible ACS module (active)
• Power supply: 5V DC from USB-C (≤ 0.45A)
• systems: Windows 7/10/11 (ASCOM), macOS, Linux (INDI)

With its global shutter, large pixel and high sensitivity, Apollo-M is excellent for high-speed solar (H-α, Ca-K, WL), lunar and planetary photography. The camera can also serve as a precision guider in the OAG Mini, offering clean, rolling-shutter -free readings and high sensitivity in the near infrared.
