Orion ED80T CF is an extremely light, carbon fiber optical tube designed for people looking for universal equipment that combines the best features of professional astrographs and telescopes dedicated to visual observations.
This telescope is a classic three-element apochromatic refractor with an aperture of 80 mm and a light power of f/6. For the best correction of chromatic aberration, the optical tube is equipped with a low dispersion (ED) lens made of FPL-53 glass. In addition to the careful selection of materials used for the production of optical elements, the lens surfaces have been covered with a full multi-layer coating, ensuring excellent contrast in the entire field of view.
This model is equipped with a Crayford type focuser with a diameter of 2.5 ", allowing for fine tuning of the focus thanks to the dual speed knobs and the 11:1 ratio. The maximum load of the focuser is 2.7 kg, which means that it maintains full linearity even when large, professional astrophotography cameras are connected to it.
The tube can be mounted on the mount using the Vixen foot, or screwed using a 1/4"-20 thread.
