Developed by Field Tested Systems, the AD-42 T2 filter adapter is a simple and quick way to adapt a digital SLR camera equipped with a T2 ring to work with astronomical filters.
The adapter is equipped with an M42 thread on the side of the camera for connection with the T2 ring. Mounting to the telescope is done using the M48 thread. The adapter also allows you to attach filters with a diameter of 1.25 "with an M28 thread. When choosing an adapter for your set, remember that after its installation, the working distance is about 60 mm, which means that this product is not compatible with some astrophotography cameras.
The use of the AD-42 T2 adapter enables not only taking classic astrophotographic shots. By installing filters such as Star Analyzer or Rainbow Optics in the adapter, you can turn your digital SLR camera into a detector that allows you to study the spectral structure of stars. More details on the use of digital cameras in spectroscopic studies of stars can be found in the video prepared by the manufacturer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv5fFSacVO8 • compatible with 2-inch optical adapters and M48 threaded extractors • possibility to attach 1.25" filters • easy to assemble and disassemble • thread on the telescope side: M48x0.75 • thread from the camera side: M42x0.75 (T2) • compatible filters: 1.25" • filter mounting: M28x0.6 thread • working distance: ~60 mm • height: 12.1 mm • Flow diameter: 28 mm • Overall diameter: 51 mm • weight: 26g • AD-42 T2 filter adapter
