Askar FRA is a series of professional refractors designed for use in astrophotography, characterized by the highest optical and mechanical quality. In 2022, the family expanded to include the FRA 300 PRO model - the most compact structure with the highest light output.

The Askar FRA 300 PRO is a high-class astrograph whose optical system consists of five lenses in the Petzval system. In order to eliminate the phenomenon of chromatic aberration, the manufacturer used in this instrument an additional lens made of low-dispersion glass, while obtaining high contrast is possible thanks to the multi-layer anti-reflective coatings on the glass surfaces.

This design, both mechanically (a solid 2.5-inch extractor with a microfocus) and optically (large diameter circle full illumination) has been optimized for cooperation with digital SLRs and professional astronomical cameras .
