Coronado PST 40/400 0.5 Å is a compact telescope which is an excellent compromise between the price, observation possibilities and image quality. This instrument, like the flagship models of the SolarMax series, was designed from scratch as a professional tool for conducting solar observations in the Hα band using one or two narrowband filters (Fabry-Pérot etalons).

The optical system of the telescope is designed on the basis of an internal etalon transmitting red light emitted by ionized hydrogen atoms. The use of a single filter allows for observations with a bandwidth of less than 1 Å, but the instrument presents its true full potential when working in a double system of etalons, with a transmission bandwidth of less than 0.5 AND. Obtaining such a narrow band allows for phenomenal contrast and maximum detail, thanks to which all structures on the surface of our star are perfectly visible.

This telescope can easily be mounted on any tripod or astronomical mount equipped with a 1/4 "photo screw.

Attention! Compared to the older version of the set, the Plössl eyepiece is now supplied with the telescope. The CEMAX eyepiece must be purchased separately.
