The Sharpstar Mark III Harmonic Mount is a lightweight and mobile equatorial mount with a high load capacity and an extremely precise, technologically advanced gear design, which makes this equipment an ideal tool for the most demanding astrophotographers. This model, thanks to its excellent workmanship, ease of use, compatibility with the most popular software libraries and uncompromising accuracy of tracking objects in the sky, opens a new class of astronomical equipment with parameters far ahead of its competitors.
The heart of the assembly are precise wave gears transferring the drive to the declination and right ascension axes with a gear ratio of 1: 1000 and allowing to obtain a maximum rotation speed of 3.8 ° / s. Working as a classic assembly ¿Equatorial, the head can be used in latitudes within the range of 15 - 80 °, but by loosening the latitude adjustment system and switching to the azimuthal assembly mode, the adjustment range can be to increase up to 90 °. The work of the entire system is supervised by a professional handheld controller, the casing of which is made in the CNC technology. However, because the head is equipped with a USB port and a WiFi module, the control over it can also be controlled with the use of software compatible with ASCOM or INDI controllers.
The enormity of the possibilities of this product is connected with its compact dimensions and low weight. The head is equipped with a thread enabling the connection of the counterweight axis with a five-kilogram weight, thanks to which the maximum load can be quickly increased from 18 to 26 kilograms. What is extremely important, the optical tube is protected against damage in the event of a power failure by using a special brake, preventing it from falling suddenly.
