Meade 8 "Equatorial Wedge allows you to adapt the azimuthal (AZ) mounts of the eight-inch ACF ™ and SC series telescopes to the requirements of long exposure astrophotography.

In cases where the exposure of a single frame takes longer than a typical planetary exposure, when we want to take pictures of nebulae, galaxies, star fields, and also when we want to combine lunar-planetary frames from different hours, with different positions of the object - it is necessary to use the equatorial mount (EQ), which enables setting the telescope's axis of rotation in the direction of the Earth's axis of rotation. This type of solution prevents the occurrence of a phenomenon called field rotation, i.e. rotation of an object in the telescope frame.

Owners of Meade azimuth mounts can easily adapt them to perform the function of an EQ mount by using the Meade 8 "Equatorial Wedge and setting the angle of inclination corresponding to the latitude of the observer.
