Magnetic counterweight, ideal for balancing Dobsonian telescopes, especially useful for telescopes with a diameter of 10 inches and larger.
The counterweight has a very strong magnet for a very secure fit. It has a handle for easier removal and sliding over the tube. The contact surface with the telescope has a soft felt lining to prevent scratching and is appropriately profiled (curved).
The counterweight can also be used to balance other telescopes, such as mirror astrographs, allowing you to balance the declination axis by balancing the weight of the camera or camera and astrophotography accessories attached to the focuser.
