Asterion Cooler NT-8 is a comprehensive solution to the problems of thermal stabilization of reflecting telescopes. In instruments of this type, after taking them out of a warm room or a car, a temperature gradient is created, which negatively affects the quality of the image obtained.
This undesirable effect is eliminated over time by equalizing the temperatures of the main mirror and the surroundings, which leads to the cessation of convective air movements inside the telescope. Unfortunately, the process of thermal adaptation of the telescope can take a long time. In the case of temperature differences between the telescope and the surrounding area, exceeding 10 ° C, the time needed for the proper cooling of the mirror may be even several hours, which in practice may make it impossible to conduct long-awaited observations.
