The Baader Planetarium MPCC Mark III coma corrector is a versatile Ross-type corrector, designed for both photography and visual observations with Newtonian telescopes. The corrector eliminates coma in the entire field of view without changing the focal length or image scale (magnification) of the optical system. Thanks to its improved design, the optical system effectively works with telescopes with a light intensity from f/6 to even f/3.5.

The optical elements are covered with high-quality anti-reflective coatings from Baader Phantom Coating® Group , ensuring maximum light transmission and elimination of reflections in a wide spectral range - from near ultraviolet to near infrared. The corrector offers a field of view with a full usable diameter of 44 mm, which allows work without vignetting also with full-frame matrices.

The MPCC Mark III is equipped with T-2 (M42 × 0.75) and M48 × 0.75 threads, which allows connection to most camcorders and SLR cameras, as well as 1.25" eyepieces. The Visual and Photographic kit includes not only the MPCC corrector (catalog no. 2458400A), but also:
• 1.25"/T-2 adapter with rotation adjustment (Baader #2458125)
• T-2 VariLock spacer ring 20–29 mm (Baader #2956929)

The recommended working distance from the rear element of the corrector to the focal plane is 55 mm (±1 mm). The MPCC Mark III does not vignet at the aperture ratio of f/3.5, does not introduce a "center soft spot" and, thanks to the design without converging/diverging lenses, does not change the aperture ratio of the system. The corrector can be used with various adapters for cameras and SLRs - also in the configuration with the M48 thread for the maximum active diameter.
