Fenix ARE-X2 has two ports adapted to charge a wide range of lithium-ion (Li-ion), nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) or nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries. The charger will automatically select the appropriate charging mode for each type of battery.
This charger has a power mode for external devices, e.g. a smartphone or tablet. All you need to do is connect them through a USB socket with a cable and put charged batteries in the charger port. The Fenix ARE-X2 charger with batteries will start to work as a power bank.
Another interesting feature of this charger is the discharge of external devices. The condition is that the device has a USB socket. By connecting them to the micro USB port on the charger, it will begin drawing power from it, charging the Li-ion batteries located in the ports. This function is not available for Ni-MH and Ni-CD batteries. Unloading alone does not require placing cells in ports.
Fenix ARE-X2 is the first device that allows free energy transfer from one device to Li-ion batteries and vice versa.
