Multifunctional filter designed for mounting on optical tubes of the Schmidt-Cassegrain type. It allows for optimal results in both visual and astrophotographic applications. It eliminates unwanted reflections in the case of lunar and planetary observations and improves transparency by reducing the impact of atmospheric pollution on our planet. This filter also improves color saturation, balance and contrast.
In addition, it protects the inside of the tube against dust, which is deposited on the filter and not on the internal elements of the optical system. It is much easier to clean the surface of the Skylight filter, after removing all the observation accessories, than the main mirror of the telescope.
The GSO Skylight filter is attached directly to the Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (SCT) cell before installing any other observation accessories. Then all the necessary accessories are screwed on the external standard SCT thread male filter (2 "x24 tpi).
