Achromatic refractor with a 150 mm objective diameter and a 750 mm focal length. A very large aperture for a refractor and a relatively short focal length make this telescope capable of obtaining a very wide field of view. This makes it an excellent choice for people who want to admire large open clusters, extensive nebulous objects or entire sections of the Milky Way. The telescope is quite light, which, combined with its relatively small dimensions, means that its transport or storage will not be a problem. This telescope is also a good solution for beginners observing the night sky. The large field of view that can be obtained in this telescope is very helpful in finding objects in the sky.

The set includes a 9x50 optical finder and clamps with a dovetail that allow for mounting the refractor on the mount. This telescope will allow for comfortable observations of the Moon, Sun (when using an appropriate solar filter), or planets. However, this type of equipment will work best in observations of large star fields, entire sections of the Milky Way. With appropriate eyepieces, it can provide a field of view comparable to wide-angle binoculars at a typical telescopic range. Due to these types of properties, this telescope can be used for observing comets, especially those with extensive tails. It is very well suited for observing variable stars using the visual method. Thanks to its large aperture, the BK 150/750 will also be useful in observing deep-sky objects of lower brightness, such as galaxies or distant star clusters. The telescope's construction makes it a useful tool for nature observations as well.

Optical system

This telescope is a classic, two-element achromatic refractor. This type of system guarantees high quality of the image obtained. Thanks to its large aperture, this telescope provides the possibility of observing objects up to almost 13.2 magnitudes (with naked eye visibility up to 6 magnitudes). The size of the objective is also related to the optical resolution, which in this telescope allows for resolving stars that are more than 1.1" apart.

Installation

Telescope without mount. Refractor 150/750 is a short, compact design, thanks to its not too large dimensions it can be mounted on EQ3-2 class mounts (for visual observations). In case of using the telescope for astrophotography, we recommend HEQ5 or EQ6 class mount.

Extract

The telescope is equipped with a 2" eyepiece extension tube with a reduction to 1.25". The set includes a 90-degree mirror angle attachment in the 2" standard. The extension tube is in the rack&pinion standard, compatible with Skywatcher electronic focusers, in a standard compatible with GSO substitutes.

Astronomical observations

1. Solar System - for observing bright objects, it is worth putting a cap with an aperture reduction hole on the lens, thanks to which we can reduce the effects caused by chromatic aberration
• objects on the lunar surface larger than 1-1.5 km;
• sunspots and their structure;
• all planets of the solar system;
• phases of Mercury and Venus
• small shield of Mars
• Jupiter's equatorial belts and the Galilean moons
• Saturn's rings and the largest moon Titan
• Uranus and Neptune in the form of stars
• the movement of asteroids against the background of stars
• observations of bright comets

2. Stars
• about 1.1 million stars in the entire sky, with a brightness of about 12.5 magnitudes
• double and multiple stars separated by an angular distance of more than 1.2".
• the colors of the brightest stars

3. Nebula objects
• almost all objects from the Messier catalog
• hundreds of globular clusters
• hundreds of open clusters
• brighter nebulae
• brighter galaxies

4. Ground observations
• A telescope with this type of optics is very well suited for terrestrial observations. The use of a prism diagonal attachment allows the telescope to be used as a very good quality spotting scope with the possibility of taking pictures with a given focal length.
