The AZ-3 assembly is also often used for visual astronomical observations.
It can be used to install 130/900 and 150/750 optical tubes (Pentaflex, Sky-Watcher, Spinor Optics) for observing aircraft at cruising altitudes, similar to Dobson telescopes.
