Player One Ceres 462M Mono IMX462 Astronomical Camera (SKU: POA-CERES-462M) is a compact monochrome camera for autoguiding and lunar and planetary imaging. Its Sony IMX462 sensor has a 1/2.8" format, a resolution of 1944 × 1096 pixels and a pixel size of 2.9 µm. It offers high sensitivity in visible light and near-infrared wavelengths, with read noise reaching approximately 0.7 e− at high gain.
The 1.25" insertion barrel allows the camera to fit directly into a suitable guide scope holder. A short backfocus of 7.5 mm makes it easier to position the sensor at the focal plane, while the front M28.5 × 0.6 thread accepts standard 1.25" filters. The ST4 port transmits guiding corrections to a compatible mount.
The USB 3.0 interface enables capture at up to 136 fps at full resolution in RAW8 mode with the ADC operating at 10 bits. Restricting readout to a selected area of the sensor, known as ROI, allows higher frame rates. The DPS function corrects abnormal pixels using a stored map of their positions. Actual recording speed also depends on the performance of the computer and storage device.
