The Oberwerk Sport APO 8.5x40 binoculars are a compact model with roof prisms, designed for nature, field, travel, landscape, and astronomical observation. They belong to the Sport APO series, which uses an apochromatic optical system with Extra-low Dispersion FK-61 and Super-low Dispersion FCD100 glass, dielectric and phase coatings, and field-flattener elements. The 40 mm objective lenses and 4.7 mm exit pupil make observation easier in lower light, for example at dawn, at dusk, or in shaded terrain.
