The Sky Rover Optics 2x Extender is a telecentric amplification system designed to increase the effective focal length of a telescope. Unlike conventional Barlow lenses, the telecentric design does not produce a strongly diverging light beam, which helps control vignetting and edge aberrations more effectively. This design also helps maintain a stable magnification factor even when the rear working distance changes within a reasonable range.
The extender can be used both for visual observation and planetary imaging. It can be connected directly to a 1.25" eyepiece or a planetary camera, and by removing the eyepiece holder the M42×0.75 thread can be used to connect a camera or imaging accessories directly. The two-section design provides flexibility and allows different configurations depending on the observing or imaging setup.
• telecentric extender providing 2× focal length amplification
• improved control of vignetting and edge aberrations compared to conventional Barlow lenses
• stable magnification even when the rear working distance changes (within reasonable limits)
• suitable for both visual observing and planetary imaging
• compatible with 1.25" eyepieces, planetary cameras, and DSLR cameras
• two-section design for flexible configuration
• direct camera connection via M42 thread
