ZWO ASI676MM is a monochrome astrophotography camera based on the Sony IMX676 square-format 1/1.6" sensor, delivering 12MP resolution (3552 × 3552 px) with 2 µm pixels. ZWO positions it as an all-sky camera for meteor recording and full-sky surveillance; thanks to its high resolution, it is also suitable for detailed imaging of the Sun and the Moon. The square format simplifies framing and makes mosaic stitching more straightforward, while compatibility with fisheye and wide-angle lenses supports a wide range of monitoring and sky-imaging applications.

Key features

• Sony IMX676 monochrome sensor (STARVIS 2)
• 12MP resolution - 3552 × 3552 px (square format)
• 2 µm pixel size
• 1/1.6" sensor format (7.1 × 7.1 mm)
• manufacturer’s positioning: all-sky camera for meteor recording and full-sky surveillance; high resolution also suits Solar and Lunar imaging
• square format simplifies mosaic stitching by removing long/short side considerations
• STARVIS 2 technology - higher dynamic range and enhanced near-infrared sensitivity; lower read noise and lower dark current (per manufacturer)
• no amp glow regardless of exposure length or gain setting (hardware-level implementation, no software control required)
• built-in HCG mode to reduce read noise at high gain; auto-enabled at gain 180 (per manufacturer: read noise down to 0.56e and dynamic range close to 11 stops)
• USB 3.0 interface and built-in 256MB DDR3 cache for stable and secure data transmission
• AR-coated protective window in front of the sensor (21 mm diameter, 1.1 mm thick) - sensor protection and improved transmission from near-UV to near-IR (per manufacturer)
• camera-side connection thread: female M42 × 0.75
• 1/4" mounting screw hole
