The Oberwerk 70XL-ED 70mm ED Giant Binocular (SKU: 70XL-ED) is the most compact model in the Oberwerk XL ED series and one of the most affordable ED binocular telescopes available. Featuring high-quality ED FK-61 objective lenses, 24 mm free-aperture prisms, and a durable magnesium-alloy body, it delivers bright, sharp and chromatically well-corrected images. The body is fully waterproof and nitrogen-filled for reliable field use in any conditions.
With a 390 mm focal length and Oberwerk’s premium 14 mm 8-element eyepieces (70° AFOV) included, the 70XL-ED provides 28× magnification and a 2.5° true field. A 2.5 mm exit pupil and 18 mm eye relief ensure excellent comfort, even for eyeglass wearers. Optional 7 mm eyepieces offer magnification up to 56× while maintaining ED-level image quality for astronomy and high-resolution nature observation.
A generous interpupillary distance adjustment of 50–80 mm makes the instrument suitable even for younger users. The top-mounted handle incorporates a Picatinny rail for attaching red-dot finders or laser pointers.
The elegant “Luna Pearl” finish with red anodized accents gives the instrument a modern, distinctive appearance. A robust aluminium hard case is included. Each binocular is individually collimated and tested up to 98× with accuracy better than 12 arcseconds before shipping.
