The Oberwerk 127XL-SD is the largest and most advanced binocular telescope in the XL Series, equipped with 127 mm (5") apochromatic triplet objectives made from FCD100/FK-61 ED glass and a short 650 mm focal length. With 27 mm free-aperture prisms and true APO SD performance, it delivers exceptionally sharp, high-contrast, color-free images even at very high magnifications.
Despite its large triplet objectives and oversized prisms, the lightweight magnesium alloy body keeps the total weight at only 11.1 kg, making it far more manageable than traditional 150 mm bino-telescopes. The elegant “Luna Pearl” finish with gold-anodized accents, characteristic of the SD line, underscores its premium construction.
Included are Oberwerk’s finest 14 mm eyepieces (46×) with an 8-element design and 70° AFOV. Optional configurations such as 30× (22 mm) and 93× (7 mm) extend the instrument’s versatility from sweeping wide-field views to detailed lunar and planetary observation. Every unit is individually collimated and tested up to 163×, with precision better than 6 arc-seconds.
