Sky-Watcher Virtuoso GTi MAK 127 WiFi Telescope (SKU: SW-3207) is a compact and versatile setup combining the Maksutov-Cassegrain optical design with a fully automated Go-To mount equipped with Wi-Fi. It is an excellent choice both for beginners seeking their first telescope and for experienced observers looking for a portable instrument for quick backyard sessions or trips under dark skies.
The Virtuoso GTi mount automatically slews the telescope to the selected object and keeps it centered in the field of view. Its built-in WLAN module enables full wireless control via smartphone or tablet, without requiring internet access. The free SynScan app for iOS and Android provides complete control of the mount’s functions, alignment and tracking. Power can be supplied by 8 × AA 1.5 V batteries or a 12 V DC power adapter.
The MAK 127 is a compact yet highly capable optical system, ideal for observing the Moon and the planets of the Solar System. The Maksutov design significantly reduces coma, astigmatism and chromatic aberration, delivering sharp, high-contrast images. Despite its small size, the telescope offers a long 1500 mm focal length, making it suitable for high-magnification observations. Its compact, closed-tube design performs particularly well in urban environments with limited visibility of faint deep-sky targets.
The telescope’s light-gathering ability allows detection of objects down to 13.1 magnitude, while the optical resolution enables separation of stars more than 1" apart. The system is based on a spherical meniscus corrector combined with primary and secondary mirrors in the Maksutov-Cassegrain configuration.
The telescope is equipped with a standard 1.25" eyepiece holder. Focusing is achieved via a knob positioned near the primary mirror. Two 1.25" eyepieces are included: Super 10 mm and Super 25 mm.
