NYX-101 Harmonic Gear Mount (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-NYX101) is a high-payload strain wave mount designed for demanding astrophotography and advanced visual observing. Strain wave drives on both RA and DEC axes provide backlash-free operation with very high torque, enabling stable tracking even at heavy imaging loads. The mount supports payloads up to 20 kg without counterweights, while the mount head itself weighs approximately 6.4 kg.
The mount body is fully CNC-machined from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminium alloy and anodised in black and blue. Internally, it uses branded components, including stepper motors and harmonic gears, ensuring long-term reliability and precision. For safety, NYX-101 features an electronic RA brake that prevents backsliding when power is lost, as well as safety limit stops to protect against collisions during slewing and tracking.
