The EZY Focus Hand Controller (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-EZYFOCUS) is a precision handheld controller designed for smooth and accurate control of motorized telescope focusers. It enables vibration-free manual focusing, which is especially important for long focal length systems and fast optical configurations.
The controller features a digital rotary encoder with an integrated push button. Rotating the knob simulates a traditional focuser knob, while pressing it reduces the motor speed by a 1:10 ratio for fine focusing. Pressing the knob again restores coarse movement. Two additional “<<” and “>>” buttons allow the focuser to move IN or OUT by an exact, preconfigured number of steps.
EZY Focus can operate simultaneously with PC-based motor control. When connected to the EXT port of a compatible PegasusAstro device, both the hand controller and computer software work in parallel, keeping the motor position fully synchronized without the need to disconnect the controller.
The device is equipped with a 1.3-inch OLED display (128 × 64 pixels) covered with a red film to preserve night vision. The screen displays motor position, focus presets and the settings menu. A bright, adjustable red LED on the front of the controller can also be used as an astronomical chart light.
An embedded high-accuracy temperature and relative humidity sensor is integrated into the controller. When used with the Ultimate Powerbox v2, the EZY Focus sensor automatically replaces the stock environmental sensor and its readings are used directly by the device software.
