Indigo Filter Wheel 7-position / 2" (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-INDIGOFW7-2) is a compact and highly precise filter wheel designed for advanced astrophotography and astronomical imaging. It supports seven filters in either the 2-inch mounted format or 50 mm unmounted format, offering excellent flexibility while maintaining a very slim mechanical profile.
The housing is CNC-machined from high-quality aluminium, allowing the filter wheel to achieve an ultra-thin design with a thickness of just 19.0 mm (19.6 mm with adapters installed on both sides). This minimal backfocus makes it easy to integrate into demanding imaging trains with modern CMOS and CCD cameras.
Filter selection is driven by a direct-drive stepper motor combined with optical encoders. This solution guarantees extremely accurate and repeatable filter positioning, regardless of rotation direction (clockwise or counterclockwise). A shortest-path algorithm is employed to ensure the fastest and most efficient filter changes with minimal carousel movement.
The Indigo Filter Wheel operates exclusively via a single USB2 (Type B) cable, providing both power and data without the need for an external power supply. Both telescope-side and camera-side M54 openings feature adjustable orientation adapters, allowing precise rotational alignment of the camera or optical accessories without disturbing the rest of the imaging setup.
