The Ha 7 nm photographic filter in a 2" mount (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-FLTR-2M-HA) is a narrowband filter designed for astrophotography of emission nebulae in the hydrogen-alpha line. With a 7 nm bandwidth centered at 656 nm, it effectively enhances nebular structures while strongly suppressing unwanted background light.
The filter reduces the transmission of artificial light sources such as high- and low-pressure sodium and mercury vapor lamps, as well as unwanted natural skyglow caused by atmospheric oxygen emission. This makes it a suitable choice for high-contrast narrowband H-alpha imaging, allowing subtle nebular details to be recorded even under light-polluted skies.
Manufactured to photographic standards, the filter features precision-polished glass with 1/4 wavefront accuracy and multilayer anti-reflection coatings. The parfocal design facilitates use in multi-filter imaging setups without the need for refocusing when switching filters. The 2" M48-threaded cell ensures compatibility with standard filter wheels and adapters.
