DewMaster 2 (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-DEWMSTR2) is the next-generation dew heater controller designed for precise and independent management of optical heating in astronomical setups. The device supports up to five dew heaters, each controlled individually via PWM duty cycle from 0% to 100%.
The controller operates fully digitally and features a large 2.1-inch high-contrast OLED display with a red filter that preserves night vision. The screen provides real-time readouts of input voltage and total current consumption in amperes. The display remains fully responsive even at very low temperatures, down to -40°C.
DewMaster 2 supports both USB-C and Wi-Fi connectivity, operating either as a Wi-Fi hotspot or a network client. An integrated web server allows full control via a standard web browser by entering dewmaster2.local. The device can also be controlled through imaging software using ASCOM Alpaca or classic ASCOM 7 drivers.
An external temperature and humidity sensor is included, providing continuous monitoring of ambient conditions and dew point calculation. The automatic dew control function enables the controller to activate and regulate heater power dynamically based on environmental conditions.
Two additional temperature probe inputs (3.5 mm) allow precise monitoring of optical component temperatures. Each probe can be assigned to a specific output channel, enabling the controller to maintain optics slightly above ambient temperature, effectively preventing dew formation without introducing thermal turbulence.
Each of the five output channels is driven by a high-capacity MOSFET transistor, delivering up to 6 A per channel with minimal voltage drop. The DewMaster 2 also provides two 12 V DC pass-through outputs for powering additional equipment.
