SESTO SENSO 3 SC (PrimaLuceLab, SKU: SESTOSENSO3SC) is an advanced robotic focusing motor designed specifically for Schmidt-Cassegrain, EdgeHD, RASA, and other telescopes with internal mirror focusing systems. Developed and manufactured in Italy by PrimaLuceLab, it features the innovative Direct Pulley Clamp (DPC) — a backlash-free pulley-driven coupling that provides precise motorized control while allowing manual focusing at any time. The integrated position encoder continuously tracks motor position, and the Automatic Position Recovery function restores the previous focus position if manual movement is detected. A high-resolution motor offering up to 2 million steps ensures the finest focusing precision, regardless of the telescope’s mechanical reduction.

SESTO SENSO 3 SC features a compact and lightweight body integrating all control electronics and ports: USB-C, ARCO, 12V DC power (5.5/2.5 mm, center positive), and a temperature sensor port. The built-in LEDs can be dimmed or completely turned off via DARK mode. Thanks to the innovative Direct Pulley Clamp system, installation on SC, EdgeHD, RASA, or MAK180 telescopes is quick and secure. The pulley drive ensures smooth, backlash-free focusing, while manual focusing remains fully available without losing position thanks to the encoder.
The integrated encoder and automatic calibration function enable the motor to precisely determine the focuser’s full travel range, allowing remote calibration in unattended observatories. The Automatic Position Recovery feature automatically restores the last known focus position if movement is detected. The USB-C interface provides fast and reliable connection to a computer, while built-in Wi-Fi enables full wireless control through the Virtual HandPad application.
The PLAY astrophotography software from PrimaLuceLab provides autofocus, temperature compensation, focus presets, and real-time status monitoring. SESTO SENSO 3 SC is also fully compatible with ASCOM drivers and popular third-party software such as NINA, Sequence Generator Pro, and MaxIm DL. The dedicated ARCO port allows single-cable connection to the ARCO rotator for seamless integration in advanced astrophotography setups.
