The Antlia H-Beta 3 nm Pro Narrowband 2" Mounted is a Pro series narrowband filter designed to capture hydrogen H-Beta emission (486.1 nm). It features an exceptionally narrow passband of 3 nm, which allows for maximum contrast of nebular structures and effectively suppresses unwanted background light. With a peak transmission of 88% and a precise out-of-band block (>OD5 in the 300–1100 nm range), the filter provides excellent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and minimizes the influence of other wavelengths. The filter design reduces halos around bright stars, guaranteeing clean and clear images. The Antlia Pro 3nm series filters utilize a single, unglued optical substrate, eliminating internal reflections and increasing optical reliability. The H-Beta 3nm Pro model is designed for astrophotography of deep-sky objects that contain H-Beta emissions—primarily emission nebulae. The filter can be successfully used in both urban environments and in dark observing locations, even in the presence of the Moon. Its performance remains very good even at telescope apertures of f/3. The thin, black-anodized frame minimizes vignetting and reflections, while the black glass edges reduce side reflections. The filter is not suitable for solar observations or visual use. • narrow band 3 nm – maximum contrast and background reduction • peak transmission 88% at a wavelength of 486.1 nm (H-Beta line) • blocking outside the band >OD5 (0.001%) in the range of 300–1100 nm • single optical substrate – no gluing and internal reflections • minimal halo around bright stars due to steep spectral characteristics • multi-layer coatings with high stability and durability • 2" frame (M48×0.75) – ultra-thin, black anodized, with engraved description • adapted to work with optical systems up to f/3 • ideal for photographing emission nebulae containing H-Beta lines • can be used in city lighting conditions and under the moon • not suitable for solar observation and not recommended for visual applications at night • filter type: narrowband H-Beta • central wavelength (CWL): 486.1 nm • full width half-width (FWHM): 3 nm • maximum transmission: 88% • out-of-band blocking: >OD5 (300–1100 nm) • glass thickness: 2 mm ±0.05 mm • optical substrate: single, unglued • surface quality: 60/40 (MIL-O-13830) • wavefront: λ/4 or better • surface parallelism: <30″ arc • frame: 2" (M48×0.75), ultra-thin, black anodized • purpose: astrophotography of emission nebulae (H-Beta) • warranty: 3 years (against delamination and coating defects)
