Daystar Filters Interference Eliminator – T-mount (SKU: MG0408) is a tilt adapter designed to eliminate interference patterns such as Newton’s Rings that often appear in narrowband monochromatic imaging, particularly in Hydrogen-alpha solar photography. These interference fringes are caused by nearly parallel light reflecting inside the camera sensor or optical elements of the imaging train.
The Interference Eliminator mitigates this effect by slightly tilting the camera relative to the optical axis. This changes the angle of incidence of the incoming light and alters the internal optical path lengths inside the sensor, significantly reducing interference. The design keeps the center of the image sensor fixed, ensuring that framing, focus position and vignetting remain unchanged while adjusting the tilt.

For correct operation the adapter should be placed directly in front of the camera in the optical train. Gradually adjust the tilt until the interference pattern disappears or becomes sufficiently minimized.
