An evolution of the unique Vortex Defender collimator, this time designed for service pistols. It is therefore larger, slightly more massive, but most importantly still extremely durable and perfectly fits the tactical nature of the weapon. The lens has been proportionally enlarged to provide a wider field of view and the possibility of wider zero adjustment. In combination with the classic 3 MOA dot, it will work perfectly in tactical shooting and dynamic shooting. In the 6 MOA version, on the other hand, it will be an ideal choice as a complement to a service pistol or a model that we use privately for personal protection. • 12-step dot brightness adjustment (10 + 2 NV) The sight body is made of 7075 aircraft aluminum using precision milling. Thanks to this, the device has a lightweight and durable construction weighing only 41 g. The aluminum body is finished with hard anodizing, which provides high resistance to abrasion and scratches. The collimator base is made in the popular Shield RMS/RMSc standard, which eliminates the need to purchase an additional mounting plate or modify the weapon by a gunsmith.
The front of the sight has aggressive Fast-Rack ribbing, thanks to which the gun can be reloaded safely even with the help of the collimator. The sight has a waterproof and dustproof housing, supported by a polymer Shockshield insert, which effectively absorbs shocks and weapon recoil. The narrow profile of the sight makes drawing the gun from under clothing smooth and at the same time allows you to carry the gun inconspicuously. The collimator has a simple and user-friendly interface operated using large buttons located on both sides of the housing. Vortex Defender-CCW has a high-quality lens covered with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, which provide high light transmission and a clear and sharp image without parallax error. The sight is distinguished not only by one of the largest lenses in its class, but also by the aspherical profile of the optics. This ensures crystal sharpness of the image not only in the center, but also on the edges. As a result, we get a bright, clear image of the target and we can comfortably shoot even in low light. The aiming mark is a green dot with a size of 3 or 6 MOA (depending on the model) with a value of 1 MOA click, adjustable in the range of 115/145 MOA (horizontal/vertical). The hard Armortek coating protects the lens from scratches and other external factors.
The control system and diode are resistant to weapon recoil and weather conditions, thanks to which the sight works stably, efficiently and stably even in difficult field conditions. The collimator is powered by a CR2032 battery, which according to the manufacturer provides up to 25,000 hours of operation at a brightness setting of 6. Similar to the Venom model, the battery port is located at the top of the device, allowing easy and convenient replacement of the power source, without the need to dismantle the sight from the weapon. The user has access to 8 daily settings and 2 settings compatible with night vision. The sight owes its extended operating time to the use of a motion sensor, which automatically turns off the diode after 14 hours in the absence of movement and switches the sight to sleep mode. To re-activate the collimator, simply raise the weapon.
