The Baader Narrowband Highspeed H-alpha (6.5 nm) 2” filter has been designed to achieve maximum contrast in H-II region images with the shortest possible exposure times. The 6.5 nm transmission band reaches a value of over 90%, while completely eliminating the influence of light pollution. This filter is characterized by exceptional precision of workmanship - the surfaces are perfectly parallel with an accuracy of 1/4 wavelength (λ/4) over the entire surface.

Multi-layer plasma-applied and ion-hardened dielectric coatings provide durability and resistance to damage during use and cleaning. Baader Highspeed filters are designed to work with telescopes and astrographs with a light ratio of f/3.4 to f/1.8, making them an excellent choice for users of fast optics.

The new generation of Baader filters has been optimized to work with modern CMOS matrices, which are increasingly replacing older technologies in both amateur and professional applications. Previous generations of filters tended to generate halos when close to the matrix - this problem has been effectively eliminated thanks to the new Reflex-Blocker® coatings.

Baader engineers have introduced a number of technological innovations without significantly increasing costs. The use of advanced coatings has enabled significant reduction of reflections and improvement of the overall image quality – even in optical systems with correctors close to the sensor.

Each filter from the new series is individually coated, not cut from larger previously coated glass sheets. This guarantees consistency of parameters and greater durability. Additionally, black edge finishes are used to eliminate reflections, and the front side of the filter is marked with a contrasting ring.

Life-Coat® coatings provide long-term durability – resistant to high temperatures, cleaning and no degradation over time. New CMOS-optimized filters continue to work with CCD cameras as well.

The new generation of Baader Planetarium filters optimized for CMOS sensors features:

• increased contrast
• narrowed transmission band of the selected wavelength
• Optimized bandwidth to achieve 1:1:1 exposure for all RGB channels
• identical filter thickness ensuring parfocality
• blackened edges to eliminate reflections
• marked front side (contrasting ring)
• individual application of coatings (no cutting out of large sheets)
• Life-Coat® coatings – resistant to cleaning and aging
