The CGX-L series telescopes are equipped with the excellent Celestron CGX-L equatorial mount, which is an improved version of the CGX mount. Here you will find Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with 9.25", 11" and 14" apertures and an advanced Rowe-Ackerman astrograph with an 11" aperture.
The top-of-the-range CGX-L 1100 telescope with Schmidt-Cassegrain optics equipped with excellent StarBright XLT optical coatings and a computerized CGX-L equatorial mount. Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a diameter of 279mm (11") and a focal length of 2800mm. Despite the large aperture, this telescope is quite compact and its usability is high. When equipped with a T-Adapter and T-Ring, the tube can be used as an efficient astrograph. The Schmidt telescope is a device with a universal light intensity and a large focal length. A great advantage of such a telescope is the possibility of extending the focus significantly outside the tube, which allows the use of elements with a large optical path - binocular attachments, filter wheels, flip-mirror attachments, focal length reducers, etc. With a tube weighing only 12kg, the telescope is mobile enough to take it to a dark sky. The collecting capacity of the CGX-L 1100 model is 89% larger than 8" telescopes and 40% larger than 9.25" telescopes.
This is a development of the Celestron CGX mount - the successor to the proven Celestron CGEM mount. Increased load capacity to as much as 34 kg with a head weight of 21 kg, a powerful tripod with 70 mm diameter stainless steel legs, a right ascension axis worm with a diameter of as much as 144 mm, a 270 mm long Vixen / Losmandy standard saddle, or a massive counterweight rod with a diameter of 31.5 mm are impressive. The standard equipment includes a drive with a gear ratio using a belt, optical and mechanical limiters, start position markers and as many as 4 AUX ports.
