The new Pentax XW 16.5mm and 23mm eyepieces have the largest field of view in the series - 85°.
The Pentax XW series is known for its unmatched viewing comfort. This is also the case with the new eyepieces in the series.
Thanks to the 20mm exit pupil offset from the eyepiece and the practical, adjustable eyecup, the user has access to the entire field of view without the need to look to the sides.
The high-quality optical system with seven elements in five groups includes extra-low dispersion lanthanum glass elements to produce images with minimal aberrations. Thanks to the effective compensation of spherical aberrations of the exit pupil, it reduces the annoying "blackout" effect particularly well.
All lens surfaces that come into contact with air are coated with multilayer anti-reflective coating (Pentax SMC) to ensure light transmission of more than 90 percent (96 percent at 550 nm) in the visible light range.
Additionally, the XW series is built to the JIS Class 4 waterproof standard, which significantly increases the durability of the glasses even when observing in high humidity.
